A classic, Botley’s mansion wedding.
Matthew and Laura got married at the spectacular Botley’s Mansion, which is a beautiful country house in Surrey. It was such a fun day, and even better, the sun shone all day long!
The serious part
The ceremony was a legal ceremony, in The Green room. They chose not to over do the decoration, opting instead for simple touches, like petals & hurricane lanterns lining the aisle. Laura, was an emotional wreck from the moment she entered the room. This of course had a knock on effect, prompting little giggles and sniffles all around the room. I love it when this happens, it instantly puts people at ease.
The ceremony was really sweet. There were lots of little fleeting moments between Laura & Matthew, the odd little giggle and cheeky smile that showed more love than you could realise and of course, the standard ring not quite gliding on as you’d hope. This always happens on a hot day and sometimes, as little push is all it takes. Of course, the moment they were pronounced Husband & wife prompted a lot of celebration with whoops & cheers echoing around the room. We find, this is the part when everyone really relaxes into the celebration of the day. After the documents were signed & sealed, we all headed outside, where there was a show of confetti awaiting.
After the ceremony
The reception was in the main hall at the venue. They chose Botley’s Mansion after falling in love with it nd due to their love of movies, had a Subtle movie themed wedding, which was cool. The little touches, like movies for table names and a little bag of popcorn as the favour. I love shooting this Botley’s mansion weddings because the surroundings are absolutely amazing. Their guest were really enjoying the sunshine, drink and canopies after the ceremony. It’s always good to see everyone having so much fun, it makes our job easier as we can just mingle and catch all these fun and happy moments.
They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a DJ in the evening. Their guest were really enjoying the sunshine, drink and canopies after the ceremony. It’s always good to see everyone having so much fun, it makes our job easier as we can just mingle and catch all these fun and happy moments. They decorated the venue with movie decor and flowers, because they wanted to keep it simple. I mean, you really don’t need to do much to this place if you don’t want to. We loved their muted movie theme, especially, the little bags of popcorn as favours.
For dinner they had proper wedding grub, which was absolutely delicious. It certainly helped line the stomachs, for the evening of drinks & partying. The first dance was a good old, romantic slow dance, that ended with Matt’s romantic gesture, sliding towards Laura on both knee’s. After the fist dance, everyone filled the dance floor and the party stared. We were booked till first dance, but stayed for a while after, as they just kept dancing.
Matthew and Laura’s wedding was everything we love about weddings and so much fun. Here’s their wonderful Botley’s mansion wedding!
