Gavin & Becky’s rustic outdoor wedding at Mellow Farm barn.
Gavin and Becky got married in September at the rustic Mellow Farm Barn, which is a shabby chic barn in Surrey, and had their ceremony in the field opposite. which was great, because as the guests were bringing and taking their own chairs, they didn’t have to walk for very long. They chose Mellow farm barn because they wanted something small intimate and complete fuss-free and they could totally personalise it. Our first time shooting a wedding at Mellow farm barn. We loved it because the place is just wonderful and the surroundings are so pretty. The venue is a cool and quirky campsite with a medieval timber barn. Perfect for couples who are wanting a DIY rustic and awesome wedding.
The wedding itself was a humanist ceremony next to the woods at Mellow Farm Barn. During the ceremony, they read their own vows. It was so personal.
The reception was in the barn and they walked around the woods for photos in the afternoon, and a crowded dance floor in the evening.
They decorated the venue with bunting and flowers because they wanted to keep it simple. Becky made almost all of the bits for the wedding & totally transformed the barn. For dinner, they had a hog roast, which was loved by all the guests.
The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening with a ‘last dance’.
The most memorable part of the day was
the ceremony because it was so romantic and personal. Emotional readings from loved ones and a totally bespoke and personal humanist wedding ceremony.
They got in touch with us a few days after a wedding fair and their enquiry was so fun. They said they didn’t want a stuffy wedding, just something that was more suited to them, and we thought it was awesome that they just wanted to party and eat cake.
Becky and Gavin’s wedding had such a chilled vibe and was just the happiest occasion. Here’s their fun wedding!
