Chris & Josie’s gorgeous Northbrook park Orangery wedding was so much fun we didn’t want to leave.
Chris and Josie got married this spring at the spectacular Northbrook Park Orangery in Farnham, Surrey. They had their ceremony in their local parish church, which was nearby. They chose Northbrook Park because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they just fell in love with it. It was an English country garden wedding, decorating the venue with flowers and stationery to complement the venue. Their stunning and fun cake took centre stage on the white dance floor and was framed by LOVE letters to really set the tone for the evening reception. These extra touches, help transport the room to another level and are well worth looking into.
The excitement before the wedding
Josie got ready at Northbrook Park in the fabulous Bridal suite with both her and Chris’ mum and bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. This is one of my favourite parts of the day. So much excitement, but also nervousness. My absolute favourite moment is when the dress goes on and the bride sees herself as that for the first time. Then the joy of everyone else seeing that too. I just love it. The girls then jumped into a taxi to the ceremony. Followed by Josie and her dad in the Wedding car. Chris got ready at his parent’s house with his dad & the rest of the guys. They then rode together to get to the ceremony.
The wedding itself was a church service in their local town not far from Northbrook Park. During the ceremony, they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was such a personal service.
The reception was in the orangery and they had a cocktail drinks reception in the afternoon, and after their wedding breakfast, they made way for one hell of a party in the evening. Prosecco and canapés were served in the stunning Ivy room, whilst we took the family outside for photos. Believe it or not, it was the day before the return of the Beast from the East, so it was a little chilly for an outdoor reception.
For dinner, they had a slap up meal, which was gobbled down in seconds by everyone. Once everyone had full bellies the speeches began. Lots of loving looks on the top table, matched by “I can’t believe you said that” eyes followed by all the tears of happiness. The first dance was a romantic slow dance.
The nicest part of the day was sneaking out to catch the sunset with Josie and Chris because it was so romantic and personal. We stole them from their guests just before dessert. Just taking a quick 10-minute walk with them was so nice. We got to hear how much they were loving their day & they got to take an extra 10 minutes toward the end of the day to appreciate all the love they were getting and said how thankful they were that everyone came to celebrate with them.
Chris and Josie met online and have been together for 10 years. They got in touch with us after we kept seeing each other at local wedding fairs and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and we really liked that they just really wanted us there. This is what Chris said on his enquiry “We have met you guys on two occasions at two wedding shows, I at Farnborough Village, and my partner at another (she will be mad I’ve forgotten), and both your photos and personalities really helped shine through” We love getting enquiries like this through. Not just for the ego boost, but it’s always nice to know people love what you do.
The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to be yourselves. It’s your wedding, so reflect yourselves.
